Your images stay on your device
Every image tool on ArtistTools.org runs entirely in your browser. Images you load are processed locally. They are never uploaded to our servers or any third party. When you close the tab, they are gone unless you explicitly save something to your device's local storage.
Local storage
Some tools save settings, favourites or projects in your browser's local storage or IndexedDB so they are there when you come back. This data lives on your device and can be cleared from your browser settings at any time.
Counting visits
The site may count visits with up to three services: Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and PostHog. None of them loads until you press Allow in the banner at the foot of the page, and none loads at all if your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal. If you press Decline, or never answer, nothing is loaded and every tool works the same.
If you allow it, they see which pages are opened, how the page is scrolled and which buttons outside a tool are pressed. Clarity and PostHog can also make a recording of how a page is used. Whatever you allow, they never receive your pictures, any canvas, the area of the page where a tool works, or anything you type: those parts are hidden from the recording before it leaves your device, and every typed box is masked. They are also never sent the part of a page's address after its name, where a tool keeps its settings. Clarity runs only on pages without a tool.
There are no advertisements, and the services are told not to use your visit for advertising.
Cookies
The site itself sets no tracking cookies. The services above set their own cookies only after you press Allow. Some pages show images straight from museums’ open-access servers; those servers may set cookies of their own, which this site does not read or control.
Changing your mind
Your choice is kept in your browser. You can change it here at any time; stopping removes the services' cookies from this device.
